The Pacific Insitute for Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) is a consortium of 9 Canadian universities (University of Alberta, University of British Columbia, University of Calgary, Simon Fraser University, University of Victoria, University of Regina, University of Lethbridge, University of Manitoba, University of Saskatchewan) and one US university (University of Washington).
In 2007, the CNRS and PIMS signed an agreement creating PIMS-Europe CNRS UMI #3069 (in French) to facilitate and encourage research collaborations between mathematical scientists at PIMS member universities in North America and researchers across France.
- PIMS Europe Fellowship
The goal is to develop and support research collaborations between mathematical scientists at PIMS member universities and researchers across France.
Fellowship awardees will receive CAD $5,000 to facilitate long-term visits to France.
- PIMS – Europe Student Mobility Program
In partnership with Mitacs, this program supports visits by students from France to carry out research at PIMS member universities and by students from PIMS member universities to carry out research in France.
This award provides $6000 (CAD) for senior undergraduate and graduate students to conduct 12-24 week research projects.
- PIMS – CNRS Postes Rouges
The Institute of Mathematics of the CNRS (INSMI) will offer a limited number of research positions, available to foreign visitors from the PIMS member institutes Under the PIMS-CNRS UMI.
- CNRS Visitors
PIMS and CNRS are calling for applications from French researchers to spend an academic year at one of PIMS’ member universities and to participate in PIMS’ research activities.
